Bob and Norma would like to thank all our visitors and all our new customers for their support at this years Southampton Boat Show;
It was a tremendously successful show; the weather like last year was sunny and dry for the whole ten days bringing a crowd of 134.000 visitors in total to the show.

Visitors poured in daily over the bridge finding Honnor Marine on their usual Stand C11.

Our Original Devon Lugger and Scaffie created a great deal of interest and caused vast crowds every day to stop and look and admire with many placing orders for them.

By the end of the show we had taken orders for ten Luggers, three Dabbers and two Scaffies, with further enquiries and orders coming in on our return.

We had numerous visitors and we would like to especially thank all our existing customers who support us by attending the show giving free advice to interested parties and who offer their own sailing experiences to people seeing the boats for the first time.

The article printed in the Watercraft Magazine "The Devon Lugger One Year On" by Chris Finch owner of "Lily" was extremely helpful, giving straight forward advice and a full record of her abilities and performance.

We cannot thank Chris enough for putting so much effort into creating this opportunity which has enabled us to pass onto new enquirers this useful information. Our thanks also to photographer Peter Chesworth for his interesting pictures and illustrations for the article.

  We were delighted to see Michelle Siddy at the show; Michelle is one of our local Heywood girls with lots of interest in the boating world. She was working on the Waterfront side of The Southampton Boat Show.
  Visitors Mr and Mrs Ken Robson owners of Lugger" Dolphin Seeker" from the I.O.W paid us a welcome visit.
  Also a visit from John Clark Lugger owner "Laura Joan"I.OW. and last years buyers of our Show Scaffie Lawrence and Sue all from the IOW.

  John Savage owner of Lugger" Greenside Down "paid us a visit as did Lillian and Paul with their son who are owners of an Honnor Marine Coaster from Anglesey.

Nothing but sheer happiness can only describe the delight on the face of Mr and Mrs Hennerberg from "Tree of Life" who placed an order for a Lugger which will be used on the I.O.W . After great deliberation he too went for the Oxford Blue Topland.

Celebrity visitor was" the Henry Lloyd" himself, famous for his sportswear; He took a keen interest in our boats and has invited us to meet up with him later in November as he lives not far away.

Our thanks to Bill Price from Devon who is also Lugger owner of "Truddles" Bill is very approachable and has assisted with advice to new customers.

It was especially nice to see Richard and Jayne Fisk who paid us a visit; they have their Lugger Sandpiper 2 in Devon;

New Lugger customer at the show Justin Langham from Blandford visited us last year with friends Christopher and Lisa Fraser, who purchased their Lugger "Breaking Wind 1V ". This year Justin decided to order his Lugger with the traditional Oxford Blue Topland White Hull and Cream Deck.

It was very nice of Lt Commander Rothwell from the Royal Navy Sailing Centre Whale Island Portsmouth to call and see us at the show placing an order for a launching trolley for one of his Gigs.

Our very loyal friends Jill and Harold Green owners of Lugger Sandpiper from The London Boat Show also paid us a visit as did Shirley and Gordon from Pool Dorset.
Not forgetting Peter Lihou owner of Lugger "Moondance" and Captain Wiffen owner of Lugger "Laurel" which he sails in Southern Ireland.

Our motto "WHEN YOU BUY A BOAT FROM HONNOR MARINE YOU BECOME PART OF THE FAMILY" was well and truly proved by the loyal support of everyone who visited us.

Our sincere thanks also to Rachel and Chris Franks from Liverpool who are the proud family owners of Lugger "Clare" .

They kindly looked after our stand while Bob and I went over to have our photographs taken with Dudley Dix the Cape Cutter 19 boat designer who had flown in from Cape Town to be with us all at the show.

Many thanks to Simon Head who is always willing to give us a helping hand on our stand; Simon was an owner of a Longboat and advises people on the boats performance, but he couldn't resist the temptation to become an owner of the popular Cape Cutter 19.

Nick and Lyndsey Voohereve owners of Cape Yachts manned the Cape Cutter 19 stand taking boat orders into 2005! This extremely sought after boat which Honnor Marine will be building in 2004. Everyone concerned was delighted at the popularity of this remarkable boat and the amount of interest she created.

Special mention to our BOATMARK agent George for all the material he gave us which enabled us to distribute the knowledge about this very High Security Chip which we use in all our boats as extra security.

Also to our new distributor John Lindley for making arrangements for trial sails on one of our Luggers in Chichester Marina.
This service will prove invaluable to customers in this area to really get the experience of a sail in an Original Devon Lugger.

  A good time was had by all; Pirates day held on Friday 20th September proved to be very successful; deliberated by our neighbours selling Nautical Gifts.
