(1) Southampton Boat Show 2004 10th-19th September;

 (2) Honnor Marine had a good stand which was based at the front of the entrances foot bridge just as you crossed over to the middle section;
As the crowds poured in the sun shone most mornings and our visitors said that they couldn't miss us being in such a good position.

(3) Unfortunately the good weather didn't last and most days it was sad to see the people leaving early in the afternoon in torrential rain.
But it is always a pleasure to see our naval visitors Lt Cmdr Rothwell and Russell from The Royal Navy Sailing Center at Whale Island Portsmouth who bought an Original Devon Gig from us two years ago.
(4a) The Original Devon Lugger always creates lots of interest and as usual for the Southampton Boat Show we took the combination of the popular Oxford Blue Topland -White Hull -Cream Deck with the Hardwood Rubbing Strakes.
(4b) This year should any of our Lugger owners be interested we have at last developed a way of securing the spare trailer wheel to the Euro Trailer.
(5) On the second day of the show a delighted Richard Walker with his family bought the Lugger show boat;
As he and the family only live at Chandlers Ford it was not far to deliver once the show was over.

(6) As discussed Richard bought the recommended Honda 5hp 4stroke outboard engine with the long shaft and a five year warranty.

(6a) (Contact www.honda.co.uk) for further information.

(6b) Being a very musical family, after long discussions they named their Lugger "RHAPSODY".

(7) It was a lovely surprise to meet Barry Treacher and family who had flown in from Ireland.
Barry placed his order for "Hunny Bee" an Original Devon Lugger at last years Southampton Boat Show and called with some lovely pictures of her out sailing in Donegal.

 (8) Also our regular visitor and Lugger owners of "Dolphin Seeker" Mr and Mrs Kenneth Robson from the Isle of Wight.

(8b) Picture showing us how easy it is to launch from the Euro Trailer.

(9) It was a nice surprise to meet Tony and Melvyn our boat cover manufacturers checking up that everything was fine; we covered all three boats each night with the heavy duty dark blue acrylic all over covers which gave good protection to the boats considering the amount of rain we had.

(10) Bob and I couldn't believe it when during the middle of the show Aki Yabuki appeared and through his interpreter Mimi Nye from Japanese Connection based in Oxford, told us that he had flown in from Tokyo to thank us for his "Black Dabber" which we had exported earlier on in the year.

(10a) Pictures show how she was loaded into the 20ft container and securely fixed for her long journey.

(10b)

(11) Even though the weather was not good it didn't prevent the Lugger orders from coming in.

(11a) We were extremely pleased to see Alan Woolford who is a Thames Valley Regional Organiser from Sailability; Alan takes delivery of his new Original Devon Dabber on 25th October when he and his wife will call and collect the boat from Honnor Marines boat yard then continue to travel onto the Lake District for a weeks sailing holiday;

Alan also informed us that the Queen Mary Sailing Club from Middlesex had managed to raise funding and placed an order for an Original Devon Lugger which will be presented at The London Boat Show 2005.

(12) Many thanks to Bill and Elizabeth Masser from Buckinghamshire for ordering a new Euro Trailer for their beloved Lugger which they keep in Ireland.

(13) The show just wouldn't be the same if we didn't get a visit from our John and Marie Walker from Skipton North Yorkshire; John and Marie have owned their Lugger "PUDDLEDUCK" for two years now and they and their family enjoy many hours of safe family sailing in the Lake District.

(14) Our show Scaffie with her Oxford Blue Hull and Cream Deck had a lot of interest shown;
She especially caught the eye of Robert Wall from Kent who was delighted with his buy.

(14a) The Honda 2.3 4stroke outboard engine with the standard shaft fits the Scaffie well and is very much recommended.

(15) All in all taking into consideration the good weather days with the bad, the show proved to be a great success and Bob and I wish to thank all our visitors who came to see us and who have supported us all these years. Special thanks for all the orders placed at the show helping Honnor Marine to carry on from strength to strength to produce these very successful family day sailing boats at affordable prices.

(16) We cannot not mention the fact that we took our second UK built CapeCutter19 to the show. She created much interest and we had numerous visitors aboard her;
After the show she was delivered to her new owners Mr and Mrs Graham Cross who live in Alton on the outskirts of Southampton.We wish them many happy sailing hours as "CANNELLE" is going to be sailed in France.
